ABOUT THE ARTIST
I’m inspired by memories of making art as a child as well as current life observances. My work is unique because I use oil stick as a resist underneath the acrylic paint (I love the texture that comes through as a resist!) and the profuse amount of pencil drawings on top of the paint.
ABOUT THE ART
My playfully expressive paintings focus on strong shapes and bright colors. I make symbols in oil stick on heavy canvas. Layers of acrylic paint follow, then I scrape back down to the resist of the oil. Pencil drawings go on top of the acrylic - a story to explore up close.
