ABOUT THE ARTIST

I viewed Winslow Homer's watercolor paintings as a teenager in NYC and knew it: that's what I"m going to do. Life had other plans, but I took workshops, painted when time allowed, and persevered for years. My work is accepted in the 2024 American Watercolor Society's International Exhibition.

ABOUT THE ART

Watercolor is typically described as ‘difficult', but it is full of fun surprises. It can be unpredictable, but I go with the flow, and gently nudge it to get what I am looking for. Transparent pigments allow me to mix rich, airy tones, juxtaposed to semi-opaque paints for contrasts.
